VERONA, Ky.--Williamstown High School (2-0) (1-0) traveled to the Walton-Verona High School (1-1)(0-1) athletic complex Thursday for the KHSAA District 32 season opener.
The visiting Demons led most of the game and finished it off with a 3-2 victory.
Brock and Grant Houchens kept the scoring in the family for WTown. Grant scored two and Brock added one. Goalie Elijah Walters saved seven goals while allowing two.
WVHS's Arif Ceylan and John Stranko each scored a goal and goalie Sam Kunkle saved eight while allowing three.
Williamstown hosts arch rival and next door neighbor Grant County High School Saturday afternoon at 4 p.m. WVHS hosts Henry County in a Region eight match-up Friday evening at 8 p.m.
Grant County lost to Campbell County 1-0.
Simon Kenton lost to Bishop Brossart 2-0.
