Fort Thomas, Ky.--The Simon Kenton Pioneers football team won the pandemic season opener on the road Friday night.
The 'Neers got on the board first with a 37 yard field goal with 9:52 left in the first quarter. Six minutes and 32 seconds later, Jayden Lawson took the ball 61 yards for a score. SKHS 10-0.
With 3:13 left in the first half SKHS grabs another field goal to go up 13-0.
The score would sit there until 6:03 left in the third quarter when Pioneers would snag another score. Quarterback Chase Crone connected to Trey Little for a huge 87 yard touchdown. 20-7.

The final score of the night came from Lawson again, this time from eight yards.
Trey Little had five receptions for 133 yards and a touchdown. Marcus Courtney and Caleb Livers each caught three passes for 37 and 27 yards.
Jayden Lawson finished the night with 103 yards rushing on 14 attempts.
Chase Crone was 16/32 with 253 yards passing and a touchdown completion. He also ran the ball 18 times for 38 yards and threw one interception.
Defensively, Nate Walker led the Pioneers with eight solo tackles. Joe Vormbrock was in on five tackles for a loss. Jake Huff and Dakota Brooksbank each had a sack.
Total defense gave 157 yards through the air, and 188 yards on the ground for a total of 345 yards and allowed 14 points.
Offense gained a total of 146 yards rushing and 253 yards passing for a total of 399 yards offense.
