INDEPENDENCE, Ky--The 2020 season offers players a time to shine. Many of the stat leaders have graduated.
PASSING:wr at Simon Kenton, Nick Seger will return for his final year on the KHSAA District 32 Grid Iron. He led the district with seven field goals on nine attempts in 2019 and in was eighth in the state overall.
Seger also was 36 of 37 PATs, and amazingly he fell short of making the state leader board. The stat needed was at least three PATs per game. Nick played 13 games. You can solve the equation on your own.
PASSING:
Chase Crone threw for 1,700 yds, had 134 completions on 245 attempts and netted 14 touchdown passes. He has to focus in on his accuracy and eliminate the 12 interceptions.
Recieving:
At SKHS, Caleb Livers had 402 yds with 23 receptions and three touchdowns. Trey Little caught 30 passes for 300 yds and four touchdowns.
Defensively, SKHS's senior Nate Walker will have to shine on his 87 tackles. Team quarterback sack leader senior Jake Huff is the only returner with five. With the other leaders out of the way, Huff's total tackle count should skyrocket this season.
Overall, the Pioneers had a less than awesome 2019 with a regular season record of 6-4. The record was strong enough get them team to the playoffs and lost in the quarterfinals.
